About Love that Journey

We believe every pet deserves safe passage, a loving home, and a chance at a better life.  Our journey into rescue began with two hounds Matt and I found on a drive to Cherry Lake. … That experience changed both of us and set me on a new path—one that replaced years of corporate burnout with a mission rooted in compassion, purpose, and second chances.

Since then, fostering and volunteering at a local rescue have become a huge passion. Over the past year, we’ve fostered many dogs (21 Since Mar ‘24!), each with their own breed quirks and personalities. Today, we share our home with four dogs—Liddy the pitty, Dirty Dawson, Sherlock & Watson and three cats: Hush, Deetz, and Ash.

Our long-term vision is to create a boarding business that not only supports pets and their families but also contributes to local rescue services. With each step forward, we honor the ones who started it all and every rescue who reminds us why we do this. Because Love That Journey isn’t just ours—it belongs to every animal still waiting for theirs.
